Hello and Welcome! My name is Cathy Kruger.

I live in lovely Somerset West in the Western Cape, nestled in a beautiful corner of the world between old trees, mountains and a river at the bottom of our garden. I am first and foremost a wife and mom, and in my spare time I sew, paint and knit!! PetalPrintStitch was born out of my need to “do something” with everything that I create. 

Initially I printed fabric from my own handprinted designs and created a range of totebags, zipper purses and tea towels. Hence the name - Petal (because I love to paint flowers) Print (as I printed fabric and greeting cards using my art) and Stitch (as I sewed cloth items from these fabrics). Covid then happened (and homeschooling - ugh!!) and PetalPrintStitch has evolved to become a place where I create a range of handmade bags, using fabrics that I sourced from all over the world (prior to lockdown) and am thankfully managing to source again. I prefer to use only 100% cotton, hemp and linen fabric.

Every single item that I sell I have created myself. I do not outsource any work. Hence the smaller quantities and sometimes longer lead-times ( and the reason why I do not supply stock into shops ). I never make any 2 items the same. I am extremely particular about neatness and accuracy in my work, and take pride in the products that I send out into the world. 

I love to see where my products end up, and hope that they bring joy to those that use them. I really enjoy the creative process of making these unique bags!
